![]() If for some reason you require one of the beta BIOSes which are available from the lejabeach website () updated, please send me a PM. If you do not require the PXE ROM to display its "press Shift+F10 to configure." message twice (remember, this board has two GBe LAN ports!) on startup after the Intel AHCI OROM's initialization message, please go to the CMOS setup screen, then Integrated Peripherals, then Onboard PCI Device, and set - Invoke Boot Agent to Disabled for both Network Controller 1 and Network Controller 2. Here is an example of the Realtek PXE ROM's configuration screen which is accessible after pressing Shift+F10 when prompted: Only BIOS 18ZZZ has been personally tested by myself, but the worst thing that can happen when using an older version would be a conflict between a specific device's option ROM and the BIOS, in which case you simply flash back to the stock BIOS and report back here and I'll try to help you fix it. I highly suggest you do not use any BIOS older than 14, but I've included them for posterity. ONCE AGAIN, FLASH OTHER BIOS VERSIONS AT YOUR OWN RISK. FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK! I HAVE ONLY TESTED BIOS "18ZZZ" PERSONALLY. !!! DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE. ![]() ![]() Phoenix AHCI Option ROM 01.06.70 (08-13-2008)įlash using a clean DOS boot floppy or a USB key. !!! IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHICH BIOS TO FLASH: Flash 18ZZZ if you have a 45nm processor, or 14ZZZ if you have a 65nm processor for best compatibility. I also did not attempt to update any of the beta BIOS versions available on the aforementioned lejabeach site for rather obvious reasons (except 18 and its variants, obviously). My apologies if you require this specific BIOS. NOTE: I was unable to update BIOS "12" for some reason. Okay, so here's a new BIOS compilation, this one with updated Realtek PXE Option ROMs and spanning most available BIOS revisions. I also still have to dual boot to WinXP for some programs which is on a separate harddrive. Thanks for your insight. But if you have a link to the registry trick for Win7 I would like to try, but it seems with this mother board you have to set all your harddrives to ACHI/Raid or IDE and I have 6 harddrives hooked up to this MB all IDE and full of imprtant dataso I don't think ACHI/raid is a possibility to set it for one harddrive. I'm only getting 240/240MB/s in IDE really for what I use the computer for its fine. If your SSD speed is not max out it is not due to the board but to the settings, have a try with the Raid mode (even for sigle drive). To turn in raid mode you do not need to reinstall the OS, there is a registry trick (win 7) and then you switch to raid mode in the bios and the OS boot fine. The best option is RAID mode even with a sigle drive because you can use intel RST drivers and it is as good as AHCI performance and you can build a RAID array in the future. I suggest that you try AHCI or RAID mode. I never tried the IDE mode with SSDs but with this board in raid mode (even with 1 SSD, no raid array) the speed is max out Write:270MB/s Read:280MB/s with Atto or Cristall Disk Mark. If driver fails to receive D2H FIS, issue COMRESET again. Samsung TSS-TS-H353 (ODD) will not send D2H FIS for first COMRESET. SATA ODD (Samsung TSS-TS-H353) can not be detected normally. Fix the issue that the performance will suffer for JMB36X C.ī. I'll test that sometime soon.ĮDIT: Newer JMicron driver 1.17.59 available here (). Any future updates to the BIOS will be JMicron OROMs (or the Phoenix AHCI OROM, but that hasn't seen an update since 08-13-2008, so that's doubtful).Ĭome to think of it, I have not verified RAID operation using the JMicron controller. I will, of course, test every newer OROM as they are surfaced, but it's doubtful that one will randomly work again. is most likely the "final" Intel OROM for our BIOS. None worked when set to RAID operation mode. I have tested the following Intel RAID OROMs:
